Terreon Quadra-Fount
Washfountain
Our Terreon
Quadra-Fount Washfountain offers the latest in modern features, efficiencies and
cost savings. It is an excellent solution for “green” construction or renovation
projects. It serves one to four
users at a time and is highly vandal resistant. It saves space, water and energy because
less hot water is used and therefore less water is heated. It has a unique Terreon surface which is
available in two versions - Terreon® solid surface and
Terreon®RE recycled solid surface – and both are now GREENGUARD
Certified as low-emitting materials. The Terreon Quadra-Fount Washfountain is
ADA compliant
and is available with Air Metering, TouchTime®, Infrared or Battery Infrared
Control.
Material in a Terreon Quadra-Fount
Washfountain
The surface
material of our Terreon
Quadra-Fount Washfountain is a leader in solid surface innovation. Called
Terreon, it is a blend of acrylic modified polyester resin with UV stabilizer,
alumina tri-hydrate and mineral fillers.
It is bound by heat and a two step catalyst. It has a number of characteristics which
suit it for high volume commercial traffic. The standard thickness is ½ inch and it
is durable, smooth, non-porous and long-lasting. It is impact and scratch resistant
making it suitable for deterring vandalism. Should it be damaged or scratched then
it is easy to repair with a Terreon repair kit. Minor scratches can be fixed by using an
everyday cleanser or fine grit abrasive such as sandpaper or steel wool. Since it is non-porous it is chemical
and stain resistant as well as easy to clean and maintain. The Terreon Quadra-Fount Washfountain is
also resistant to heat and water damage and is UV light resistant using the
latest technology in UV light stabilizers.
The composition of Terreron allows for even distribution of color
throughout the material and it is available in 18 different colors for color
design options. Terreon can be
“worked” or modified using standard power tools and our joint kits allow users
to work with applications where a surface length of 120 inches or greater are
needed.
The surface
material Terreon, used in our Terreon
Quadra-Fount Washfountain,
is now
GREENGUARD Certified as a low-emitting material. GREENGUARD Environmental
Institute (GEI) is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that
organizes the GREENGUARD Certification Program. This certification program is a
testing program to evaluate products and materials for emissions. The mission of GEI is to protect human
health and quality of life by improving indoor air that people breathe. GEI is an ANSI Accredited Standards
Developer and establishes acceptable indoor environmental standards for building
materials, construction practices, furnishings and electronic equipment. The certification known as “GREENGUARD”
is widely recognized by “green” building programs including the United States
Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED program.
The
construction of the Terron Quadra-Fount Washfountain
is an impressive lesson in engineering. The pedestal frame and access panels are
fabricated from heavy gauge type 304 stainless steel. Another reason the unit is vandal
resistant is because the molded sprayhead is an integral element of the bowl
module. All push buttons and/or
infrared sensors and streamformers are secured to the unit from inside the
sprayhead module which leaves little equipment exposed for the vandal. In addition, all valves, water supplies
and waste water connections are concealed inside the pedestal frame. A hex key is required to remove the
front access panel.
