Many organizations install shower facilities for guests, clients, or employees. This is becoming increasingly prevalent in any environment where people must put on clean clothes before leaving the facility. In some environments, it is also a matter of personal health and safety for workers to shower after being exposed to industrial agents that can irritate the skin with varying degrees of severity. Because they serve a very real and practical purpose beyond that of a simple, courtesy, amenity, bathroom showers for commercial facilities must operate as efficiently as they do effectively in order for their usage to be cost effective for the organization.
There are two different types of commercial showers. There are individual showers that service the needs of one user at a time. Then there are group showers, which service the needs of multiple users at a time.
One of the more popular forms of group showers is known as the column shower because it takes the form of a column with multiple shower heads located toward the top of the assembly. The column itself is connected to a single source of water that feeds the multiple shower heads it supports. Each user gets the amount of water he or she needs, but the organization nevertheless saves money in two respects. The installation costs of installing a single plumbed line are far less than installing multiple plumbed lines. Also, the actual amount of water used, though sufficient for each user, is still regulated by the single fixture that supplies water to all.
This is often the best bathroom shower for commercial facilities on a budget, and for municipalities whose budgets are sometimes covered exclusively by public taxes. Examples include many factories, fire stations, and police stations. While column showers are intended to be used by multiple persons at once, privacy wishes can still be accommodated by installing dividers between the shower heads that will create individual stalls for each user.
Individual showers come in two basic forms. Wall showers consist of a shower head and a control valve installed either directly into the wall or into an assembly attached to the wall. Cabinet showers are cabinets, just like the name suggests that act as a fully furnished shower room for the user.
Individual bathroom showers for commercial facilities are often built using wall mounted shower assemblies and solid plastic partitions. This may consume more water than a column shower, but it is often the only option an organization has. If a room has plenty of wall space, but not enough floor space to mount a central, standing shower unit. Wall mounted shower heads, control valves, and accessories make better use of space in spite of the need to install multiple plumbed lines.
Cabinet showers are often preferable in places where both limited wall space and limited floor space make it difficult to create private areas for each user. A cabinet assembly is like a small shower room in its own right and better accommodates the privacy needs of users in places like ocean going vessels. Cabinet showers with an all-welded assembly also make for ideal security bathroom showers for commercial facilities that specialize in mental care, or in correctional facilities that require antiligature restroom fixtures for inmate safety.
