Galvanized Wave Style Bike Rack

The galvanized wave style bike rack is arguably the most efficient bike rack of any design.  Its simplicity makes it highly utilitarian both for security and space conservation.  It is weather and vandal resistant, and it offers one of the best designs for minimizing the risk of damage to parked bicycles.

The simple wave design allows for bikes to be firmly secured with u-locks.  Bikes are positioned midway across the lower loop portion wave design and then locked into place.  This is much more secure than simply locking the front or the back of the bike to a standing structure.  An added benefit of this design is that it saves on sidewalk space.  Rather than having the bulk of the bike extend outward from the rack, the bike is actually positioned equally across the rack, leaving room for people to walk on either side of it. 

The average galvanized wave style bike rack will secure between 5 and 9 bikes.  Smaller, portable models will secure 3 bikes within its loops, and two on either end.  The curved, smoothed loops prove ideal storage for top-quality mountain bikes, racking bikes, and trail bikes because they present no abrasive surface that can scratch the bike.  Not only do these racks keep the bikes safe from theft, but they also prevent damage when people walking buy accidentally bump into tires.  Needless to say, anyone that bumps into the rack itself, such as a child running and playing, also faces a much less serious risk of injury thanks to the rounded, smooth design of the loops.

The capacity of any galvanized wave style bike rack can be extended by connecting it end-to-end with identical models.  The only limitation on the number of racks that can be connected in this fashion is the length of the sidewalk, building façade, storefront, or grassy area in which they are mounted.  Both portable and permanent mounted racks can be combined in this way to create a bicycle parking area customized to the needs of schools, parks, and other public areas as needed.

Portable racks are more convenient for areas with limited traffic where theft is unlikely.  Some organizations with guards on duty, or security cameras positioned throughout their grounds, will use portable galvanized wave style bike racks to setup parking areas for cyclist attending sales, special events, or concerts.  Attempts at vandalism or theft can be quickly stopped by on duty security.  When the event is over, the racks can be removed and stored until the next event. 

Permanently mounted racks can also be ordered as either in-ground designs or surface mounted options.  In-ground mounts are particularly useful to facilities with limited sidewalk space.  They offer organizations the ability to use a grassy area near the parking lot or the sidewalk as a designated space for bicycle storage.  

The galvanized wave style bike rack can be ordered with powder coat finish or thermoplastic finish.  Thermoplastic finish, in addition to being super weather resistant, is also very easy to repair in the event that it is damaged or vandalized.  It is also a better option for facilities looking for more color choices than powder coat models offer.
