Storage Lockers for Gyms

One of the most important parts of any athletic facility is the dressing room.  It is not just a place to change before a workout and to shower after exercise.  It is also a place to store one’s clothing and valuable belongings.  It is essential that those designing a dressing room carefully consider which storage lockers for gyms will best serve the needs of persons in their particular facility.

Factors that need to be considered here are the amount of clothing and other items that need to be stored, security, and the relationship of locker design to the interior design of the dressing room. 

Different types of gyms exist for different purposes and as such require different types of lockers in their dressing rooms.  For example, some athletic facilities are purely commercial entities.  They are built for public enrollment for either an annual contract or month-to-month fee.  People who join these organizations often come from work and bring a lot of material with them.  They often require more locker space as a result. 

The best lockers to purchase for these dressing rooms are the extra wide metal lockers.  They provide plenty of space for business clothing such as men’s suits, ladies skirts and dresses, jewelry, watches, purses, and even laptop cases which many people do not want to leave in their cars while they work out.  All of these items are much more secure in a locker when the locker is fitted with the right type of security lock.   

On the other hand, students in public schools often leave books and personal items in hall lockers and take only themselves and the clothes they are wearing to the physical education dressing room.  Because younger children are smaller, and because they only need to store clothing, maybe a watch and a cell phone, and shoes, their storage lockers can be much smaller than those in paid membership gymnasiums.

The one thing they absolutely must have, however, is good ventilation.  This allows gym clothes to air out after PE so they can be worn the following day.

Interior design matters in these places because it is part of the attraction factor that brings in new members and new residents.  Storage lockers here need to accommodate both clothing and valuables and they need to match the aesthetics of the room.
