 Our Metal
School Lockers are found all across the country in schools, gyms, hospitals,
institutions, warehouse and manufacturing facilities, police stations, homes and
offices. Our standard metal
hall lockers are an excellent choice for school students because they are
durable and the most economical of all lockers. These lockers can be delivered to your
site unassembled or assembled. We
have also discovered that our Metal School Lockers are very popular in the
home. They are great organizers for
closets and garages. Our lockers
include models that are ADA (Americans with Disabilities) compliant to
modular models. We also offer a full line of other types of lockers such as vented, wood, plastic,
and cubby.
There are a
number of considerations to evaluate when selecting Metal
School Lockers. First, there
are different types of metal used for these lockers. Stainless steel does not rust or corrode
under normal use and this is an inherent advantage over standard steel. However, stainless steel lockers are
much more expensive. Second, the
method of painting the locker should be evaluated. Today standard steel lockers
utilize the powder-coated method of painting and the result is a much more
durable and corrosion resistant paint protecting the metal. This type of painting uses an electric
current to apply the paint to the metal and it adheres with a much higher level
of strength. It is much harder to
scratch and chip than the paints and painting methods of the past. Usually stainless steel is not painted.
Third, the method of ventilation for the locker must be evaluated. If the locker is going to be used in a
gym or other humid environment then the lockers should have a good inner
ventilation. Ventilation is
primarily dependent on the number of holes or openings in the locker. Mesh locker doors are an option to
consider if the environment is very humid. Finally, the closing or locking
system of the locker should be analyzed.
Will the system meet the needs of the user? How much security is needed? Will the same user be using the same
locker for a period of time?
Answering these questions will help determine the closing or locking
system to use.
Our Metal School
lockers are constructed from 16 gauge steel and
are an economical locker solution for personal storage needs. They are available
in single-tier, double-tier, triple-tier, and 5 or 6 tier box styles. Our standard width locker is
12
inches wide and the extra wide locker is
15
inches wide.
Our standard lockers are available in heights of five and six feet while
the extra wide models are available in a height of six feet only. The legs will add an additional
6
inches of height.
The standard lockers are available in depths of 12, 15, and
18
inches while the extra wide lockers are only available in
15 and 18
inch depths. Both standard and extra wide lockers feature
a lift up handle and recessed hasp and can accommodate a built-in
combination or key lock
or a padlock. Both standard and extra wide lockers
feature end bases, front bases and sloping hoods as available options. And both types of our Metal School
Lockers also feature an adjustable hat shelf, three (3) single wall hooks, and
one double ceiling hook.
