Lobby Directory

Lobby directories are important tools for businesses and schools of all types.  In commercial buildings, they are required by the U.S.P.S in buildings that house 15 or more tenants with mailboxes.  They eliminate the need for a concierge by providing information for visitors to read themselves.  Directories are also good for security for the same reason.  Security guards do not have to act as concierges when people can find what they are looking for on their own. 

The standing directory is a versatile tool for indoor and outdoor information display.   It mounts on a pedestal base that can be easily moved to any desired location.  Standing directories are popular in lobby areas in high rise apartment buildings, condominium communities, and restaurants. Normally, it is used to display general information about the property, announce an event, or advertise a special.  It has a black background and features an aluminum finish.  Characters are three quarters inches tall.  You can adjust the pedestal from 49 inches high to 66 inches high.  The standing directory on pedestal also has a clear plastic cover.  

The business lobby directory is made specifically for small office buildings.   It surface mounts to the side of the wall near the entrance to the building.  It is protected by a shatter proof clear acrylic door.  This door also locks so that only authorized personnel can alter the information on the display.  Two keys are included with the display.  The unit features an attractive powder coated aluminum frame and a black background for the letters.  This style directory is sometimes used in schools to list school subjects by room numbers.  It can also be used to list tenants in small apartment communities.  Unit comes with 300 characters that measure three quarter inches high. 

The Marquee style lobby directory is designed to make announcements for calendar events.  It surface mounts to a wall and has a customizable white acrylic header panel at the top of the frame.  It is made from aluminum and has a black background for lettering.  A shatter proof acrylic see through door that can be locked prevents unauthorized access to letters.  Characters for information measure three quarters inches tall.  Larger two inch letters for the title bar are sold separately.  This is the most popular style directory for public schools.  Many restaurants also use this style directory to list the special of the day. 

The name lobby directory is very simple.  It is made from either aluminum or brass and surface mounts to the wall.  It is four inches wide and 14 inches long, making it a very compact, basic display for smaller buildings.  Names are displayed on label tape that must be bought separately.  This style is normally used to list either the name and suite number of a business or the name, suite, and floor of a business.  Some apartments use it for a tenant directory at the front of the building. 

The open face lobby directory is used in situations where information changes daily or even several times a day.  A good example of this is hotel conference rooms where seminars, religious services, business meetings, and special events are all held in the same group of facilities at different times.  The open face style, as its name indicates, does not have a clear cover.  This makes it easier for the event coordinator to rearrange the letters to announce the next event.  It has an aluminum finish frame with black letter panel, and it comes with characters measuring three quarters in height.
