Our Fire
Extinguisher Locker is a double tier locker that is designed to protect all
types of fire extinguishers including but not limited to those manufactured by
ABC, Amerex, Ansul, Badger and Figgie.
The locker will protect the fire extinguisher from exposure to harsh UV

design of the fire extinguisher door is glass that has been glazed and wire

The lower tier
of our Fire Extinguisher Locker is a waste bin with a cut-out
internal flap and spring loaded hinge.
The waste bin door has been designed with a metal chute to deliver the
waste into the waste receptacle.
Our lockers are available in 60 or 72 inch heights. The available width can be 12 or
15
inches and the available depth can be 12 or
15
inches. The waste liner is not included. In addition, our Fire Extinguisher
Lockers are available in twenty one colors to compliment any color
scheme.
Ownership of
fire extinguishers is important but they may be of little value if poorly
located. Where you locate your Fire Extinguisher Locker and other fire
extinguishers is very important.
People must be able to locate and properly use a fire extinguisher when
necessary because fires can grow out-of-control very quickly. So what are the key factors in locating
fire extinguishers on your property?
Location of Fire
Extinguisher Locker
The first key
factor in determining the location of your Fire
Extinguisher Cabinet is visibility.
It must be visible to all those who occupy a building. Everybody should know the location and
the lower tier of the locker is a waste bin which should help people remember
the location. The second factor is
accessibility. The extinguisher is
of no help if it can not be accessed.
It should not be behind locked doors or out of reach. People must be able to open the cabinet
door and use the extinguisher as quickly as possible. That is why there is no lock on the
cabinet door. The third factor is maintenance of accessibility. Do not place other furniture, lockers,
large plants or any other item near your Fire Extinguisher Locker at any
time. People tend to forget this
factor when they are redecorating or remodeling. Maintain the visibility and
accessibility at all times. The
fourth factor is to locate the fire extinguisher away from potential fire
sources. Flames from even a small
fire might prevent people from accessing the fire extinguisher. Therefore, identify potential fire
sources and avoid locating fire extinguishers in an area that is too close to
the potential fire source. The
fifth factor is coverage, or having enough fire extinguishers for the size of
the building. One fire extinguisher
for a 10,000
square foot building is not enough. There should be enough fire
extinguishers located in different places in the building to allow quick
response to any fire. Remember,
small fires can spread fast and the best time to extinguish a fire is when it is
small.
