The Army TA-50 style, double door military all welded
gear locker is designed to accommodate the full spectrum of military storage
requirements. These storage units
are built to be secure in the most demanding of environments. So confident are the manufacturers of
these lockers that they are sold with a lifetime warranty.
The key feature to the Army TA-50 locker design is its all welded
construction. The term
“all-welded” means that the entire unit is welded from scratch. Some locker types that compete with the
Army TA-50 locker design are assembled knock-down style, with screws, nuts, and
bolts, and then welded at the seam.
The companies that manufacture double door military all welded gear
lockers will not permit the use of bolts, screws, or rivets in any point of
their assembly. The reason for this
is very simple. Military personnel
store weapons and sensitive equipment in these units and cannot afford to have
them broken into by thieves or vandals.
An all welded construction is the best possible insurance against
unauthorized break-ins.
The
fabrication process used to build double
door military all welded gear lockers is very systematic. Doors are made from single sheets of 14
gauge prime steel. They are bent
slightly at the tops and the bottom, and they are bent at the sides. They are strengthened with channel door
stiffeners welded to the door interior on the hinge side. This creates a box-like, torque free
reinforcement for the door.
Doors and sides are perforated to allow ventilation of locker
contents. The doors latch together
through a mechanism on the right hand door. Double door military all welded gear
locker doors are further reinforced against break-ins with pry-resistant
retainers that are welded to the interior door face above and below the door
handles. Doors are secured with
locking rods, and the rods are reinforced by lock rod guides that are welded to
the top and bottom flanges of the right side door.
Army
TA-50 design, double
door military all welded gear lockers can be locked with military issue
padlocks, combination locks, or custom ordered built-in combination locks. All lockers are mastered keyed by the
project number so that commanders have full access to lockers if appropriate and
necessary.
Interior space allocation is maximized for organization and
efficiency. Interior shelves are
made of 16 gauge continuous piano hinge steel. They are ideal for storing heavy,
specialized equipment. Shelves are
positioned near the top and near the bottom of the Army TA-50 locker. This creates smaller, cubby-like storage
areas for smaller pieces of equipment, handguns, night vision goggles, helmets,
and knives. The bulk of the double
door military all welded gear locker, however, is a vertical storage area with
two back hooks located under the top shelf. Uniforms and other protective gear, such
as bulletproof vests, can be hung on these hooks.
This
leaves plenty of storage space for other materials, such as confidential files
pertaining to military intelligence.
Guns, as well as many specialized weapons, can also be stored safely and
securely in this area.
