“Wash your hands !!” We have all heard that command since
childhood and it is one of the most important things we can do to prevent the
spread of infections.
Our Sentry
Washfountains have been specifically designed for use in facilities that
have light to moderate hand washing needs.
These wash fountains are constructed of durable stainless steel which is
virtually impervious to rust, stains, mold, mildew and burns. The Sentry Wash Fountain has many
applications and is frequently found in restaurants, medical facilities,
schools, universities, stadiums, country clubs, retrofit applications and light
manufacturing or warehouse facilities.
In addition these wash fountains are ADA compliant.
Although most
people understand that hand washing is important, they often do not do it out of
forgetfulness or laziness. The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that if you do not
wash your hands frequently then you are at risk of acquiring germs from other
sources. When you inadvertently
touch your eyes, nose or mouth with one of your hands then you can transmit an
infection to yourself. This is one
of the most common methods of transmission of the cold viruses. In addition, if you have a cold or the
flu, you should wash your hands more frequently. If not, you will be spreading your germs
onto other items and surfaces that other people will touch. And then the whole family is
sick.
When should you
wash your hands? Any time is
appropriate but in particular when you have visited the restroom. You should also wash your hands before
preparing, eating or serving food as well as after touching any pet or animal.
And you certainly should wash your
hands after blowing your nose or coughing into your hands. Other actions that
would necessitate hand washing are outdoor activities, before and after visiting
anyone who is sick, dirty hands and after changing a baby’s diaper.
Our Sentry
Washfountains provide the means but the user must wash his or her hands
properly. The steps for proper hand
washing are to wet your hands with warm water and apply soap, lathering it well by vigorously rubbing
the hands together for at least fifteen seconds. All surfaces should be scrubbed
including the wrists, between the fingers, under the fingernails and the backs
of the hands. After rinsing off the soap lather a clean disposable towel can be
used to dry the hands. The towel
can then be used to turn off the water faucet which allows the user to avoid
touching a possibly contaminated surface.
Please avoid the
mistake of ordering our Sentry
Wash Fountain for the wrong type of application. This model of wash fountain is for light
to moderate use. Do not order or
use this equipment for heavy duty hand washing applications. The Sentry Washfountain bowel is shallow
and the water flow rate is not appropriate for heavy duty applications. We have other models that are
specifically designed for heavy duty use.
Also, all Sentry
Washfountains are available in stainless steel only. They have a water flow
rate of 0.5 gallons per minute per station which is most suitable for
applications where water and energy conservation are primary concerns. The optional infrared controls along
with the stainless steel construction make the Sentry Wash Fountain an excellent
selection for locations where hygiene is a primary consideration. Most Sentry Wash Fountains are sold as
pedestal units but wall mounted versions are also available.
